The Benefits of Our 12-Step Purification Process
When it comes to the kind of water you drink, there are a number of different options from which you can choose. You can drink it straight from the tap or buy it at the grocery store. You can put a filter on your faucet or in a pitcher, or order it in bottles.
But with so many choices, how do you know which is best? Is there really a difference between all of these types of waters? When it comes to choosing the best kind of water, there’s a lot more that goes into it than you may think.
As consumers, we’re told so many different things by various water companies that it can be difficult to decipher what true and what’s not. All too often, we’ll choose our water based on price or convenience. At DrinkMore Water, our goal is to provide you with valuable insight into each kind of water and to recommend the best and healthiest water for you.

Purified Water vs. Tap Water
Let’s start with a more technical definition of “purity”. Purity is often represented numerically by “total dissolved solids” (TDS.) which measures the concentration of soluble impurities in pure H2O. TDS is measured in terms of parts per million (ppm) or milligrams per liter (mg/l). The EPA stipulates that tap water should have no more than 500 ppm of impurities (of all kinds) in the water. At DrinkMore Water, our purification system removes more than 99.5% of the impurities found in the tap water. That’s correct—99.5%.
You’ve likely heard stories about the various contaminants found in tap water. Things like endocrine disruptors, pharmaceutical drugs, rocket fuel, and chromium have all been found in tap water. Now, you don’t want to drink any of that, do you?
Water is the universal solvent. It dissolves just about everything given enough time. In the Washington, DC area, our tap water comes mostly from the Potomac River—just imagine what has been dissolved in that river. That is exactly why you should switch from tap water to purified water.
When it comes to health and purity, our water at DrinkMore Water stands second to none. Why risk your health or your family’s? Choosing purified water makes sense.
Why Purified Water Is Better than Tap Water
Purified water is better than tap water for a variety of reasons. Here are five of the biggest health benefits of drinking purified water:
- Tap water travels through dirty pipes and could pick up bits of sand and dust on its way
- It’s possible to have bacteria in your tap water
- Chlorine is used to disinfect drinking water
- Purified water removes the chemicals in your water, while still keeping the essential minerals
- Purified water simply tastes and smells better
Plus, as an added benefit, your coffee machine will last much longer than if you used tap water or spring water instead of filling it with tap water. Why? Tap water contains minerals which deposit on heating elements, which ultimately results in coffee machine failure.
